1st 2nd and 3rd tries were Lucas Borg signed 2 year pathway deal recently.
Where do you see Borg and Kirk playing both started as fullbacks, Kirk moved to wing, Borg has played wing in schoolboys rep and i think centre as well, do both of them fight Rumble for the fullback spot or do you think both end up as wingers?

How about this for a back 5 in a couple of years?
  1. Rumble (Josh Dugan with ball skills)
  2. Kirk (big, fast, hard runner who can take a bomb)
  3. Buchanan (powerful, tackle busting centre)
  4. Borg (tall, fast, skillful, elusive, ball skills)
  5. Williams (big, fast)
One will miss out for Val Holmes. Really no idea which. Depend on which one stays back and doesn't go looking for work.

I think it depends if Sloan is in reserve grade or not, if hes not they have NSW Cup fullback and wing positions to fill.. though there is also Allan and Matt Feagai potentially in reserves... but they can handle a few positions.

I am still looking at all those development positions available for 2025 and not seeing kids ready for them.. I wonder if we might try to source some 21yr old type talent for some of those slots where we just dont have the talent ready.. guys who wont fit into other teams rosters.. there must be some good ones.

I'm talking 2026 or 27. I think Sloan and Suli's contracts are finishing up at the end of 2026. Especially Suli would probably look to move on a year sooner if told he wasn't going to be extended. I thought Matt Feagai only got a one year extension and Allen is free to sign elsewhere for 2026 from November.

I'd like to see some of these big, slow outside backs be retrained to play in the forwards. If CT was prop, he'd be the biggest prop the 17 have and I think second biggest after Fifita in the squad.

This is a bad idea, it didn't work last time and won't work again, you can't put this much workload and pressure on all these kids.
I still cant get my head around this one, isnt the NYC exactly what Jersey Flegg already is? Its just different for some of the other teams who have feeder clubs?

The QLD version is the problem because the broncos have a million feeder clubs.. so what happens to clubs like the Ipswich Jets etc.. but for NSW it doesnt seem too much of a change.. other than perhaps more televised coverage which is pressure (but also good for fans).

And forwards including in no particular order:
  • Halangahu
  • Latu
  • Tonga
  • Stewart
  • Ryan C
  • Toby C
As always, halfback is a worry. With those speedy outside backs, a big but not very fast 5/8 like LKT might be just what the team needs.

Not even close, you are now talking about 6 interstate games for NSW and over a dozen for other states. Look at the bottom of the Flegg ladder Storm, Warriors, Silktails.

They are not afforded the luxury of FG, fly in fly our same day most occasions.

Then you are talking about games on Thur Fri Sat Sunday, for players that work or study. They are limited on their training times as it is to avoid burn out.

The end result is blow-out scores of 50 plus margins in multiple games each week.
Look at how our Flegg have fallen off the cliff even without all that.

It's nice to dream but the reality is not all of them will make it and not all of them will stay at the club.

Maybe the best solution would be to leave it as is but promote it much more.

Dragons SG Ball and Harold Matts will have new coaches next year. One from Endeavour Sports and one from Penrith system.
Willi to coach Cup by the looks if it.

Darren Nicholls ex Penrith ,Dragons player 1/2back 2nd oldest player to make an NRL debut from memory spent 2 years with us, where has he been coaching?

Rhys Regan, where is he from? Any info..

Previous to Endeavour Dezie was at Marsden Park high and was our talent scout for Qld Schoolboys.

Rhys is a former Australian Schoolboys player who retired early due to an injury. He has been in the Penrith system and St Mary's RL

Seems so suddenly they are really doubling down on building successful lower grades. Or has it always been the case? Seems since Gaz, Coops, Honnby, Young, we haven't had many come through at once to play FG.

So how many talent scouts do we have in QLD and do they work exclusive for us, i remember when one of the scouts recommended to us Selywn Cobbo, i think he was a mate of Griffin, so i assume he was a "freelancer".

I must say although Ward struggled to find timing in last weeks cup game.. the 2nd half.. it really has me thinking he is not out of the question as a 5/8 either.. I know the younger LKT is sort of pushing ahead contract-wise, I rly liked the speed of Ward.. he plays direct so hes a real threat, and he still has the skills of a halfback.. only issue might be his size in defence.. but anyway its curious.. wish the season wasnt finishing up already.

I also like the way he plays so direct. Needs to get other areas of his game right. I think he can do it but we will see.

Timmins demoted from full-time position as Illawarra SG Ball coach, NSW Cup assistant and pathways assistant to the part-time position a Illawarra SG Ball only. I don't know what he was doing wrong but it's good the club is losing all the old boys. Get a bit more professionalism going. It also gives Timmins a chance to work his way back in if he does a good part-time job.

Only a few days on from Soward also.. kind of looks like a clean-out? I have no idea how Timmo was doing, I know early on there was a lot of pushback on how tough he was on the kids.. which lost us a few signings.. but I was hoping he would adapt, he mentioned he was learning how to in an interview a while back.. but who knows..
