Dont be sad about this mate. Fact is the Blues Shield selectors have broken me by dropping several promising players from the '24/5 contract list. Am now so pissed off that thinking seriously about following another state this season. Now that is sad.

Dont confuse white ball with red ball cricket. Tho Smith is nearing the end of an incredible red ball Test career he is still better technically than Head who is one of the best white ballers in the world at the moment.

Aussie next gens are currently playing India at home. Lost the white ballers and just pipped in the first Youth Test, with the boys showing they were up to the task in subcontinental red ball conditions. Something our men have struggled with for two decades.

State cricket is also underway for another season. Most interest is in finding the next Test opener after Dave Warner retirement. Candidates Travis Head (SA), Cameron Bancroft, Sam Whiteman (WA), Matt Renshaw (Qld). Yesterday 19 year old Sydney native Sam Konstas put up his name with a first time century (152). Two years ago he broke his club, Sutherland, all time season batting record at a tender 17 yrs.

Forgive the delay Edward. Head is aggressive but is suss against the moving new ball. Be a mistake to pick him to open. Passive is good in red ball cricket, the more patience the more runs scored.
