Flanno on the bye round podcast
- Right at the start, what's Flanno talking about? Perfect refereeing doesn't equal, "a perfect game".
- Interesting points from all parties regarding the 6-again thing in the 6th segment.
Flanno on the bye round podcast
I think Valentine Holmes is turning 30 next year as well. If he isn't 30 already.Firstly, WTF is this Dad's Army BS??!! Look at the average age of Penrith or Melbourne compared to the Dragons. If he is signed next year Dragons will have, Hunt, Gutherson, Cook and JDB all over 30 and several late 20s. 3 of the 4 are well over 30. I know Melbourne has Munster who turned 30 a couple of months back but in the GF team did they have anyone else over 30 in the 17? Did Penrith have even one?
Flanno interview
In a professional team and club, it shouldn't make the slightest bit of difference who his son is but it obviously does.It also didn’t help their relationship when Hunt urged the club to sign Clint Gutherson to play five-eighth — the position Flanagan’s son, Kyle, plays.

This is what made Flanno see red with no white.

I agree. Even given the reality of Kyle's game, it was very out of order for Hunt to say that publicly.Firstly thats not a summary of this interview thats a fox article thats been our for the best part of a week based on his media chat last Monday.
Secondly trust you to focus a 1 liner from the reporter and spin it into nepotism. Regardless of who it is Bens speaking about you dont go into the media and push negative narratives about your halves partner, or anyone for that matter. Hes been spitting this kind of crap to the media, particiularly while away at origin/rep, against the club for near on 18months. No doubt he was pushing for a release, and yes its obviously aimed to piss Flanno off even moreso given its his kid, but thats one of a miriad of reasons hes gone and we should be celebrating it.
If you actually go and listen to the interview its quite interesting.
If I make a thread about all the complaints people have, would anyone use it or just point out different complaints in various threads?Summary here as well

Flanno interview
Yea really enjoyed the part as well, and how moving forward hes wanting to be even more hands on etc to account for that, while also bringing in those leadership figures.Loved this interview.
Basically wants players with competitiveness and communication.
It was telling how he made it a clear point thst in his sharks teams he could skip a session & he would know the players would organise and complete the session themselves.
He cant do that with us yet but said cook and gutho were important pieces to help develop those characteristics in other players.
I think Benny Hornby might get a head coach job before Deano. It's good to have a coach, coaching rep teams. Building relationships with the best players.
DEAN YOUNG
Another ‘young’ coach whose name is mentioned whenever a vacancy opens up, Dean Young appears destined for a full-time first grade gig sooner rather than later.
Appointed as one of Laurie Daley’s assistant coaches for next year’s Origin series, and already serving as 2016 premiership winner Shane Flanagan’s understudy, Young is receiving a first-class coaching education.
Like Hannay, he was linked with the Eels job earlier this year. Like Hannay, he missed out. Yet in the words of Flanagan, Young is “on the pathway” to take control of an NRL side and imprint his philosophy on the game he’s served so well.
“He’ll get his time,” Flanagan added. “But you have to make sure you’re ready for it.”
He's got a headstart on Deano but a lot depends on how long Bennett stays healthy and how the Dragons fare from next year. If Flanno bombs out, I think Deano will be appointed. Not saying I support that. Not saying I don't either. Just saying what I think will happen. Bennett will keep coaching as long as he can but Hornby will probably replace him when he is ready to step aside or dies.I think Benny Hornby might get a head coach job before Deano.
