As for the game, there are so many young forwards on the cusp of first grade I get mixed up. Is Hamish Stewart the tall, athletic second rower?

I believe so. Haven’t really heard much about him this year, gone a bit under the radar.

Why did he choose his family over a game of footy, maybe he didn't have a choice, maybe he did, but we don't know.

You're right. I didn't mean to make an issue of it either. Was just frustrated after the game. I'm sure he had a very good reason.

Just running plays I would say, RFM would have to drop out for him to play.

A shot across the bow for Sloan to be much better next year?

I'm starting to think fullback isn't his position. If he could get heavier and run harder, might be a better 5/8 or centre.

Sloan injured maybe (though he was also in that training photo)... was one of his better games last week, but mostly after we started seriously chasing points in that last 20mins... I'd love if he had the fitness to do that all the time.. be surprised if we would run Matt @ the back, esp given he seemed to have a leg injury... but whatever he wants to try at this point I guess.

If you think about our backline seriously, getting as far as we did was very good. If any of them but Lomax became a free agent, how many do you think would be in demand from other clubs?

Good luck to Bird. It's a bit unfortunate for him. A bit bigger and he would have made a good forward. A bit faster a good outside back. He is stuck in the netherworld.
