But they already have Reynolds for next year. I was just thinking, things have gone very quiet about Hunt. It wouldn't surprise me if it's soon announced, "Hunt has signed with X for 2026 and negotiations are underway for an early release for 2025."

Can we stop with the stupid baseless assumptions that our most promising players are leaving. There has been literally zero indication that they are being shopped and if they were the media would be all over it. If you've ever actually been to a game and talked to them, or even just listened to their interviews the kids bleed red and white and are absolute champions, they aren't leaving unless theres some disastrous circumstances and this has already been discussed here multiple times, mug said the same.

As for delays that happen all the bloody time, particularly with fringe/development first graders just breaking out or coming off small contracts who want to increase there worth as much as possible. There's a million pieces going on in the background with potential player movements and that might also effect the dollars so for once be patient, it's not even Nov 1 yet.

Hope you're right but disagree about there being zero indication they're leaving. Or at least 1 is. The fact they are a week away from being legally allowed to negotiate elsewhere is an indication in my opinion. But as I said, I hope you're right and I'm wrong.

We probably ran our race with the Titans.. we would have pushed pretty hard for Campbell, Brimson, Fotuaika... and it wasnt meant to be... them taking RCG was a nice parting blow lol.

Seems like Dogs, Dolphins, Rorters, Broncs are the likely ones.. but I just dont think Flanno is going to get a deal hes happy with.. so its gonna be up to him how badly he wants Hunt gone, and what ideas he has as a replacement.. and he may need to wait till after Nov 1 to try and source that 7.. aka Atkinson.

Please don't talk common sense, the off-season is about wild assumptions only lmao. The dragons will be punted to PNG or China. Am I doing it right? 😉

Either way, in a week from now possibly 2 of the Dragons most promising juniors in a long time are going to be free to negotiate with other clubs.

No doubt other clubs have already made discrete contact with them.

Exactly right and I'm also allowed to point out that bandwagoning apparent departures and it being another fuckup is absolutely ridiculous at at this point given there is literally zero reason to think that. You wanna doomsday and assume the worst in every scenario be my guest, but that's not a discussion, and there's a good reason people don't enjoy that constant negativity.

As I said 2 sides to a coin, they love the club and they most likely want to prove their worth like so many other. Sua did the same for months after being able to negotiate, played his heart out for the club, earned his origin spot and his pay packet. That was the same panic and yet there's no reason they can't do the same, happens all the time. At the end of the day you want players who want to be here and want to prove themselves to the club, that's the biggest factor in club culture. If they want to be here, and everything says they do, then they will stay here.

Side note; they were both speakers at the 'What Makes a Dragon' corporate event today, make of that what you will.

Lol i know right just kick us out of the comp. Not like there's any reason to be positive after finally seeing some change in the club as for the first time in a decade.. Would help the stress levels though haha.

As I said 2 sides to a coin, they love the club and they most likely want to prove their worth like so many other. Again, really hope your right and I'm being way too pessimistic but I disagree about there being zero reason to think they are leaving unless there re-signing is announced before November 10.

And that's totally fine but I'll choose to stick to the positive outlook based on how they speak about the club and are setting the example. If I was concerned about anyone it would be some of the other juniors that havent had similar opportunities starting to get impatient, similar to Tamale (ie Sione).
