  12. Josh McGuire 2
  13. Jack de Belin 7 Absolutely tireless in defence and quality about every tackle he makes. Probably made the most metres in the forward too.

  3. Moses Suli - 6
  4. Zac Lomax - 2 What has happened to him?
  5. Tautau Moga 3
  6. Talatau Amone 5 I watched him carefully. I only noticed one missed tackles but a few times he peeled off the tackle before it was completed. I wonder if they are classed as "missed tackles".

I said before the game if we can keep Taumalolo McLean and Gilbert in check we may be half a chance. Well Taumalolo ran for 204m McLean 144m, Gilbert 101m, even their hooker Robson a dragons discard ran for 117m we managed 1 Lawrie 107m and there lies one of our greatest problems for this and the past 2 seasons if not more, NO GO FORWARD. In the next 2 weeks we play the bottom top 8 contenders Souths and Raiders when we lose those games that will put an end to our semi final aspirations. I felt very sorry for Hunt and Sua especially because they showed real passion and pain and showed their frustrations with the rubbish football some of their teamates dished up last night. If I was coaching I would immediately drop Lomax not play him even in reserves and tell him to go and have a good hard look at himself in the mirror and come back and tell me if he still wants to wear the red v his decision making last night was embarrassing. I would gather the forwards pack and make them run 100m with every 10m running into 2 teamates holding the bags and say that's what I want from everyone of you 10 hit ups a game for 100m if you can't give me that then your not good enough to start. Gee I'm mad today but only because I love my footy and my club.

Whose fault is it? Did he recruit Mbye and Woods because of salary cap trouble and the club couldn't afford anyone else?

  1. Cody Ramsey - 4 He may have "looked the most likely" as the commentators kept saying but I don't think he ever broke the line or had a line break assist so...... Didn't even try to make the tackle at the end when NQ scored.
  2. Johnathen Reuben - 3 Tried hard but there is a reason he is 29 and just made his debut.
  3. Moses Suli - 6
  4. Zac Lomax - 2 Took his game to new lows.
  5. Tautau Moga 3
  6. Talatau Amone 4
  7. Ben Hunt 6
  8. Francis Molo 4 May have be the best prop in the team but still piss poor.
  9. Moses Mbye 2 I don't know what the coach is doing picking him as starting hooker. Has the coach lost his mind?
  10. Blake Lawrie 2 He's just not a starting prop. Everyone can see it except the coach.
  11. Jack Bird 2 His defence is so bad for a second rower it's like a black comedy at this point.
  12. Josh McGuire 2 I know he started the game.
  13. Jack de Belin 6 Was the only starting forward who was ok. Again!
  14. Andrew McCullough 3 better than Mbye but that's not saying much.
  15. Aaron Woods 4 Better than usual which is exactly why no other clubs wanted him!!!
  16. Michael Molo 3 Hoped for more. Team needs it!
  17. Jayden Su'A 6 With JDB, only forward worth keeping.

The recruitment of players and the development of our young players falls squarely at the feet of the coach. You can only be guided by the success of both since Griffin has taken over as head coach by way of results on the field. I'm afraid to me if I was the coach I would consider my efforts have failed unfortunately.

Last year, the club was in a lot of salary cap bother so the recruitment of McCullough and McGuire was justified. Not so much Hooks other Broncos U20s superstars from 15 years ago, Beale and Alvaro. But as far as I can see, there is no excuse at all for the recruitment of Burgess, Woods and Mbye. Absolutely none!

On another note, he started McGuire on an edge. Why did he do that? McGuire is an out and out middle forward. Last week Jack Gosiewski and Billy Burns, specialist second rowers, apparently had blinders in the NSW Cup. McGuire was poor last night but he was playing out of position. Why does Hook keep picking forwards out of position?
  • Sims is an 80 edge forward. Don't start him at lock or on the bench.
  • McGuire is prop or coming on to give de Belin a break at lock.
  • de Belin is a lock, not an interchange forward.
  • Lawrie is the opposite to de Belin. Should be starting on the interchange bench.
  • Mbye is on the interchange bench as injury cover or come on in the forwards late in the game.
  • McCullough is an 80min hooker (barring injury) or he isn't in the team.
Speaking of McCullough, last night, literally about 5min after he came on, Cowboys made a clearing kick. I think it was Steve Roach who said, "watch how long it takes the Dragons forwards to get back behind the play the ball." It took 3 tackles (so they were all back for the 4th) and McCullough, 5min after he came on was last.

One final thing I want to say about this disaster.

I know there were high hopes for Zac Lomax. He was supposed to be a goal kicking version of Mark Gasnier. In reality he is a mistake prone version of Matt Cooper.

Morgan Morgan why was bringing McCulloch and McGuire here justified. They are three years past their used by date as is Woods. We signed that trio because they were cheap. Mybe is the only justification due to his utility value.. tho big George if fit adds huge impact off the bench too.

Hmmmm I just remembered Macca was recruited before McInnes was injured so...... hard to justify.

I still think McGuire is first grade standard but not on an edge. It's perfectly obvious to all except the coach he is a middle forward.

No he's not. If I was coach he's be in Ressies. Did Griffin start JDB off the bench. He is a starting lock forward.. play him for 80 mins and many of those poor reads in defense that cause us line breaks will be cut in half.
He started de Belin off the bench earlier in the season. Not last night.

As for Macca, I'm just saying if he were producing the same output for 80min, he might be first grade standard. Bringing him on for a 20~30min stint is clearly mental.

If you watch the dragons closely this year, I have been to 3 live games you can see in their body language that they are just going around to get their weekly pay checks. There is no commitment, no urgency to get back behind the ball, no communication on the field especially in defence . The Dragons pack is going nowhere in attack and that affects the attacking structures so if you watch closely you will see the backline in attack looks flat instead of deep and in one line instead of staggered with no options but to run 1 out or slide from one side of the field to the other. This team had the ability to make 8th but in 2 weeks time we will all be resigned to the fact their most accurate finish will be between 10th and 12th.

Well, that's dire. Time for a new coach?

I would suggest that it is because the plans and structures in place just aren't working
I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. Well, kind of. I think the structures aren't working because the cattle on hand, obviously the forwards in particular, aren't capable of setting up the structures the coach wants.

The team or the forwards, look really old to me. They are the oldest pack in the competition but even for their age, they look old.
