Yes mate but this same crap has been going in for 12 years now no changes happened and players in lower grades never given a chance and what happens they leave without a chance ........ and go on and establish themselves in other teams ......... It can't be any worse than it is now ........ It ain't working and it won't work ........

I can't tell you why he really left, but i can tell you we could accommodate both Stewart and Latu in our top 30 with their salaries..

I know a great deal of our issues lies behind the closed doors of power. I know a player managers who told me as far back as 2019 the Dragons was a no go zone.
There was no connection between our recruitment and retention team and player managers. We had a terrible reputation in the RL world with our culture and discipline. This coach is trying to change that but he also comes with luggage. It will take time but the board was too heavily invested on running the RL club as a business venture with a token RL minded members.

David Riolo runs titan sports management which is a huge stable with some massive stars and guns in the pathways.
We should have if we don’t already a very strong link with them, the office is based out of Collegians iirc, like it couldn’t be more ideal for the club
Not that I know anything behind the scenes but gheez the roosters/raiders/canterbury set the standard for the pathways recruitment and we seem a long way off that
Roosters winning the SG ball yesterday shows the level they are at as a club in that area, every single player is from outside the area ffs, that’s incredible levels of talent ID and recruitment
Their star players were as follows
-Toby Rodwell (Wollongong boy)
-Kanaan Magele (Ipswich QLD)
-Jaxson Allen (Wagga Wagga NSW)
-Itula Seve (Bulldogs Junior from Milperra)
-Josiah Fesolai (Central Coast NSW)
Not to mention a number of kids from NZ littered in the side

St. George had a similar situation last year. Most of the best players were all recruits from outside the region. Maybe most of the team period.

Steelers Instagram was literally asking people to volunteer to take some of our pathways players in to stay with them while the pre season and regular season was taking place for SG ball?
thats fucken bush league stuff, go buy some properties or rent somewhere in Keiraville/Fairy Meadow etc. with the millions of dollars the club has.
The clubs I mentioned half an hour ago in the thread all have estate’s for young men to live in while they train and play their way through the pathways, it’s an absolute joke

Serious? I didn't know that. I know Rorters bought a building for the juniors they recruit. They have meals cooked for them. Given the number of big name recruits they have, you have to say their recruitment strategy isn't very good.

Remember managers get a % of the players salary. If Dragons offered 10% more, managers would be tripping over each other to accept the deal. Nothing about this makes any sense to me at all.

Sloan is being starved by our play makers and his centre. He looks good when he goes roaming inside but needs to pick his time carefully. Barely did it on Sat and with his weak defensive effort, had his WORST game of the season. On that performance I am sending him back to Ressies and promoting Finau who was strong on the flank yesterday. Allan will be given another game no doubt.

Possibility to drop Suli and play Allan in the centres. He's too slow to be a good winger. Why does Flanno seem to love slow wingers? Biggest issue with Sloan isn't the lack of running metres but his pathetic attempted tackles.

That attempt on Staines was horrific, just no other way to describe it. He'll run away and score a 90 m try this weekend and all will be forgotten.
