Really was an average effort from them.
Not good not bad.
Ryan was the standout.
We had a few breaks we should of turned into points.
Egan had a good line break to set up a try. Si scored off a good spread.
Interestingly apart from Russell our starting side would of been 22 or younger, big change from a few weeks ago
Timmo and Billy in the coaches box I would of liked to seen Leks start and H on sooner.
Their backrower was unstoppable close to the line, he looks about 6"5 and bagged a hatrick.
Watching Flegg now.

I'll start with we were missing our right side, LKT Nick Hayden Jesse plus Jake and Loko.
Still no excuse for our poor goal line defence, I think nearly every try was score from inside 10.
Aston was a standout
Finau look strong in his short minutes.
Ben scored a try made two breaks but poor execution by him cost us.
Ryan seemed to struggle with the step up in pace.
Webster and TPH on report and Quinn HIA so we could be down a few more next week.

Do you think Ben is any chance of playing first grade in the not distant future? How old is he?

  • #4 Flanno really has a thing for big but not very mobile centres.
  • #10 has leapfrogged #16 and #17? I think #15 might also be better than 16 and 17.
  • I hope #6 is doing ok because god we need him in first grade. Though he's not the ball player we so desperately need, IMO.
  • That little #6 was tiny #1 in SG Ball. How in gods name is he going to defend in the front line in the U20s?
  • Of course we have 3 of our best out in this game. I had hoped they might back up but probably not a good idea.
  • #10 might be a dark horse to make it into the NRL.

A few of the boys wanted to play Cup Toby, Murders etc but that was knocked on the head. CT has a calf strain.

Flegg have a tough draw coming up, next 6 weeks thay play away in NZ Fiji and Melbourne. Was interesting to note that Bulldogs sent their SG side to Fiji to spread the load on Flegg players.

Are there extra spots on the bench in Flegg? Just wondering why the Bullgrubs would send their (average) SG side rather than 5 or 6 select SG players like we do.

o Coric and AlecT seem to be playing a lot better with the increased responsibility...i.e. without the 2 Couchmans running 200m per game, there is a lot to like about Coric and I like the way AlecT runs off the back fence... but I think both will be let go (or move to train and trial deals) end of year due to lack of squad spots.. we have guys like Fififa and MMolo chewing up 2 valuable Top 30 spots already.. and the 2 couchmans are in front of them.. with a bunch of JF and SG kids looking for NSW Cup positions... something has to give there.

o Really curious whats going to happen to Ryan Hutchinson, seems as important as any of the others in the Dragons SG season.. has huge speed in the way he runs.. and hits hard.. now selected for origin and will be on display.. be surprised if we can keep them all.

o Most exciting thing about the weekend is TPH getting a whole game.. I think hes a fullback.. but BRumble has that jersey for now.. be nice if he can make it @6, he seemed to handle everything thrown him in the SG season atleast.. and give it back aplenty.

TPH is a fullback but too small. Needs to think about 'alternative ways' to get bigger. Like, human growth hormone is performance enhancing but not like steriods which are extremely dangerous.

And Rumble has a frame I think he'll be able to pack muscle onto.

Surely the time has come to move Nick T to NSW Cup when he's back from suspension.

Huge 46-14 thrashing of the Warriors by the Flegg boys breaks their losing streak. Two interesting selections in Finau Latu prop and TPH 5/8 for the injured Nick Quinn. Reckon Quinn has the tools to be a quality utility.
Kiwis were two spots ahead of us too. So extra sweet.
