Well apart from the injured we have what I did predict a full strength squad for the Charity Shield match against South's.
  1. Tyrell Sloan
  2. Mathew Feagai
  3. Moses Suli
  4. Zac Lomax
  5. Mikaele Ravalawa
  6. Moses Mbye
  7. Ben Hunt
  8. Zane Musgrove
  9. Jacob Liddle
  10. Blake Lawrie
  11. Ben Murdoch-Masila
  12. Jaydn Su'A
  13. Billy Burns

    Interchange:

    14. Jayden Sullivan
    15. Francis Molo
    16. Josh Kerr
    17. Aaron Woods
    18. Tyrell Fuimaono
    19. Max Feagai
    20. Tautau Moga
    21. Michael Molo
    22. Dan Russell
    23. Jaiyden Hunt
    24. Treigh Stewart
    25 Dylan Egan
    26. Savelio Tamale
Personally I have no idea why we are starting with Billy Burns and Mulheisen doesn't even get a shot which means our multi talented coach has decided on Liddle with backup Mbye or Sullivan. These selections were very predictable, I did say Woods would be in the top 17. We have 2 players injured who will make the 17 for the Titans that is JDB and Bird. So nothing new. I did tell you so
Analysis: Star halfback Ben Hunt will make his first 2023 appearance and will partner Moses Mbye in the halves.

Tyrell Sloans comes in at fullback and Wests Tigers recruit Jacob Liddle completes the spine at hooker.

Another former Tiger in Zane Musgrove will make his Dragons debut as Jaydn Su’A, Aaron Woods and Jayden Sullivan will all play their first games of 2023.

One thing we can say about the half and 5/8 combination Hunt and Mbye is that it's probably the highest paid combination.

I'm trying to be positive but really, that combination would be in the top 4 worst, wouldn't it?
I personally can't see it lasting especially when the results are not going our way. Needs to be Hunt/ Sullivan. I can safely say that Amone won't feature. My starting 13 would have Mulheisen in the team also. But let's see how the combination goes against a very good South's team. I don't believe that Mbye can last 80 min at 5/8. Souths will definitely target our halves in attack and their edge forwards will be very dangerous. I can see another flogging unfortunately

Liddle hooker and Mbye 5/8. If the coach goes with that in round 2 rather than Sullivan and Mulheisen, I'll give up on the year.

Lucky @jodragon is here to rein in you guys irrational exuberance🤣
Just calling it as I see it. I know my days are long gone but I still understand the intricate workings of a leagues club how coaches, selectors, management think and act nothing much has changed in those areas except it is far more political these days

St George Illawarra Dragons v Rabbitohs Glen Willow Stadium, Mudgee 4.20pm

South Sydney: He’s dubbed the ‘mini Payne Haas’ but boom South Sydney forward Davvy Moale can’t get a look into the top-17 even with Hame Sele out injured. St George Illawarra: It’s a similar story for Dragons rookie five-eighth Jayden Sullivan with Anthony Griffin preferring Moses Mbye at no. 6 in Talatau Amone’s absence.

Fox League expert Corey Parker says: If I’m Hook (Griffin), I’m sticking with Moses Mbye for round one. The Dragons need his experience since it’s lacking at fullback and hooker. Sullivan just has to bide his time. Lachlan Ilias had a tough start to his career at Souths, but he’s in for a big year surrounded by a suburb spine.

I'm so tired of all this "experience, experience, experience" talk. As a matter of fact, I was so sick of it mid way through last year. How about we start talking about "ability, ability, ability" or if everyone acknowledges the coach can't get the best out of players, we at least talk about "performance, performance, performance"? Corey Parker doesn't have the best interests of the Dragons in mind. I have serious doubts coach Griffin does have either.

It's been about 6 years and 3 clubs since Mbye had a good game.

I don't follow the Grubs closely but I think he played 1 good game in a semi final when Hasler was the coach in his first year. I don't think I saw it but I remember James Graham praising him.
Unfortunately for us I believe South's edge forwards will exploit our defensive weakness in our halves and would may get a good old fashioned touch up.

I'm not worried about the edges. Without JDB our middles are going to get trampled. I give them 30min before the flood gates open. Unless Souths rest their best forwards very early. Lawrie will stand his ground but not more than that. Liddle's dummy half passes will be slow and all over the place. Who else do we have? Frank Molo is a scam. A slight upgrade on Josh Kerr. Runs a little harder but is a little lazier.

When was the last time Dragons signed a player other clubs wanted? Was Ben Hunt the last? I guess Sua to some extent but he was hardly subject to a bidding war. Picked up Suli out of Manly's reserve grade team.

Your worried about the engine room, I'm worried about the edges. It's not going to be pretty unless the rabbits take the foot off the accelerator once they have the game safely in the bag. Nobody will come to this club until we clean sweep the current coach, R&R Team and the majority of the current board away. What I have been saying is the truth we won't get anybody half decent until that is completed or at least half completed, mark my words. We don't even have our top 30 on contract yet, what does that tell you?

It's not we don't have the top 30 yet. Most teams still have one or even two spots available. We still have 5!!!

5 if not counting Amone and Ramsey. Amone is certain to get a replacement. Hook is no doubt scouring the QLD Cup as we speak. Even if we only count 3, it's too many. As you said about other clubs.

Is the Charity Shield still going to start at 4:20, AEST? I read due to extreme heat expected in much of Australia, some games are going to start later than originally scheduled.
