Damn.Well apart from the injured we have what I did predict a full strength squad for the Charity Shield match against South's.
I just updated my original post with more thoughts and comments Mulheisen didn't get a start so our genius coach has settled on Liddle backup Mbye or Sullivan. I told everyone not to expect too many young stars will get a run.Damn.
Charity Shield team v South Sydney Rabbitohs
- Tyrell Sloan: Good
- Mathew Feagai: As expected
- Moses Suli :As expected
- Zac Lomax: Of course
- Mikaele Ravalawa: As expected
- Moses Mbye: Interesting
- Ben Hunt: Of course
- Zane Musgrove: Groan
- Jacob Liddle: FFS, I've had it with this f**king coach!
- Blake Lawrie: Of course
- Ben Murdoch-Masila: Good one coach. You are a genius. Only you could turn a 31 year-old journeyman prop into a second rower.....
- Jaydn Su'A: Of course.
- Billy Burns: WTF?
Interchange:
14. Jayden Sullivan: Interesting
15. Francis Molo: I guess that's right
16. Josh Kerr: Please leave
17. Aaron Woods: As above
18. Tyrell Fuimaono: No comment
19. Max Feagai: Where is he going to play?
20. Tautau Moga: God help us
21. Michael Molo: Not bad
22. Dan Russell: Good player. 28 year-old rookie can go to a team already strong but with little cap space.
23. Jaiyden Hunt: Good luck
24. Treigh Stewart: As above
25 Dylan Egan: As above
26. Savelio Tamale: Who?
Halves combinations of Hunt and Mbye is awful this means the genius Griffin is looking at Sullivan to back up Liddle. God I hope he's not.Damn.

No. 26 is a rugby convert very highly rated. Big strong fast centre with a beautiful step. He could be the next Gasnier if he is able to bring his talent to the league game. I have watched a few videos of him and as an old coach he is exciting to watch. I hope he gets at least a 10 min run against the rabbitsDamn.

This coach is doing my head in. Surely he's got to go before round 6.Halves combinations of Hunt and Mbye is awful this means the genius Griffin is looking at Sullivan to back up Liddle. God I hope he's not.
Burns 13, Murdoch-Masila 11, Mbye 6, the Couchman's, Shereb, Coric nowhere to be seen. Shereb didn't have a good game in the trial. Coric didn't put a foot wrong and the Couchman's were good. Of course Mulheisen had to go because in his 80min at 5/8 he didn't do much! I honestly give up on this coach. He's either getting paid to sabotage the team or he's lost his mind.Damn.

I just don't understand why he is sticking with Mbye as we have a specialist 5/8 sitting on the bloody bench. I wrote in another post that out of all the backline positions 6 & 7 do the most running and organising. Mbye won't be able to play the full 80 min in 1st grade. This coach is doing my head in. Surely he's got to go before round 6.
Poor Mulheisen has to be on the wrong side of the coach. He played 80 min out of position and tried his hardest. He is a specialist hooker. I hope his confidence hasn't taken a beating because of this ludicrous coach playing with young players heads.Burns 13, Murdoch-Masila 11, Mbye 6, the Couchman's, Shereb, Coric nowhere to be seen. It really does seem personal with this coach and some of his selections. Mbye > Sloan and Sullivan. Liddle > Mulheisen. Bird > Sims last year.Poor Mulheisen has to be on the wrong side of the coach. He played 80 min out of position and tried his hardest. He is a specialist hooker. I hope his confidence hasn't taken a beating because of this ludicrous coach playing with young players heads.
So no Shereb, Mulheisen, Finau, Lobb, Coric or Couchmans. Maybe next year we will have a junior or 2 join the top 30.What I want to see for the Charity Shield
- Shereb to start and play at least 40min uninterrupted. Hopefully more than 40. And if he doesn't go looking for the ball and doesn't go looking for defensive work, Ben Hunt needs to give him an almighty baking on the field, for the whole world to see.
- Mulheisen and Finau are the hookers. Why bother with Liddle? We know what he's like in first grade. Very average at best! Why not give talented younger players a chance?
- Not sure about the backline. Obviously Sloan at fullback but need at least one more speedy winger or centre. Give Lobb another chance and rest Rava.
- Lawrie can have a rest. Coric, Musgrove, Murdoch - Massila, J. Hunt, Woods are in for a shootout to see which 3 start the year in first grade. F. Molo will be added to the contest after round 3.
- Both Couchmans to again be given more than a few minutes. Hard to give them at least 40 with the first and the 4th but at least 20~30, more if possible.
At least a shred of positive news.No. 26 is a rugby convert very highly rated. Big strong fast centre with a beautiful step. He could be the next Gasnier if he is able to bring his talent to the league game. I have watched a few videos of him and as an old coach he is exciting to watch. Souths might put a big score on this team. Add to the pressure on the coach so he is hopefully gone not far into the season.Damn.

As much as it seems almost everyone hates this coach, except people who want to see St George struggle, there must be a consenus among the coaching staff that those young players you mentioned just aren't ready for first grade yet. It's not a dictatorship. Griffin is a big voice but far from the only one.So no Shereb, Mulheisen, Finau, Lobb, Coric or Couchmans. Maybe next year we will have a junior or 2 join the top 30.
I don't personally hate him, I know how tough a gig coaching is but he has failed to build a competitive team albeit because in my opinion 2 reasons being salary and because of the culture nobody wants to play for us but he has also failed to develop our young starsAs much as it seems almost everyone hates this coach, except people who want to see St George struggle, there must be a consenus among the coaching staff that those young players you mentioned just aren't ready for first grade yet. I missspoke. I hate what he is doing. He's probably a decent person.I don't personally hate him, I know how tough a gig coaching is but he has failed to build a competitive team albeit because in my opinion 2 reasons being salary and because of the culture nobody wants to play for us but he has also failed to develop our young stars
He is paid the big bucks to do a tough job. Maybe he should have settled for something easier.I don't personally hate him, I know how tough a gig coaching is but he has failed to build a competitive team albeit because in my opinion 2 reasons being salary and because of the culture nobody wants to play for us but he has also failed to develop our young stars

$450k a year not bad, you really need to perform and unfortunately for him and the supporters he hasn't. This season looks no different sadlyHe is paid the big bucks to do a tough job. Maybe he should have settled for something easier.

This season looks like the worst yet of the last decade. Even Baldy had an excuse with the JDB situation. No excuse at all for Griffin.$450k a year not bad, you really need to perform and unfortunately for him and the supporters he hasn't. This season looks no different sadly
