Also another poor defender. I blame our junior coaches who obviously emphasized offense over defense. Hopefully between Flanno and his new head defense coach Dean Young this will change across all grades..
Also small. Dufty, Sloan, Stewart. The club really knows how to find a small fullback! But it's not an excuse. I think Sloan and Stewart are both bigger than Papenhauzen.

I hope we hold onto Ethan Arena, a big bopper with ball skills played Ball last season. Has a step like a three quarter.
Hearing we have picked up another Old schoolboy. What happened to scouting players from our own state.

Jacob Halangahu fresh from a contract upgrade, then the honor of respresenting his country as a Junior Kangaroo, also played in the Blues U17 v Warrington Wolves Academy U17 match on Nov 4.
I have a link to the full replay if interested.

Flanagan pussy footing over new signings. 'like to have Manu but dont think he wants to leave the Roosters'', ''we can offer him whatever he wants, but wont be taking captaincy away from Hunt''. Get real coach.

He is also going hard for AFB @ whopping $1m a year but nothing on halve Tom Dearden, so obviously he intends starting his son at 5/8 and the stinky man at 1/2. Neither could organize a smoko in a cigarette factory. Without good attacking structure we will be no different to the past two seasons.

Pinning our hopes on King-Togia and Ashton Ward. I think they are both training with first grade even though they are both still eligible for Jersey Flegg.

..and last years Ball skipper Nick Quinn.Three promising junior halves. We need to nurture them if we think they are long term Dragons.
LKT and Kade Reed are on T&T
Ward and Quinn not in the picture.
Also Aaymon Fitzgibbon in line .
  • Jacob Halangahu
  • Finau Latu
  • Loko Jr
As far as I know, all 3 are on train and trail deals. Means possible they'll get promoted into the top 30 but unlikely. 2025 development contract and the year after, top 30.

There is something to be said for throwing young players into the NRL too soon.
Spot on, they will move up to replace Stewart amd Egan who move up to top 30. We can't have too many young ones jump up to top 30.

Jake Halangahu is still at school so he will join pre season in January then back to local footy before moving down end of 24.
Finau Latu has already moved down so you see move of him.

Ben Rumble has also been promoted to Trail and Trial of the back of Sloan injury.

Dragons have signed Isaiah Fagalilo, Jett Grimmond,, Tyler Peckham-Harris from Qld
They have also signed kids from group 3, 9, 11 and Newcastle
So many young players. With a decent spine and a few old hardheads, should be good. But next year is still looking bleak at this stage.

I have grave doubts that young Ramsay will ever play again. He would have to be declared medically fit to actually play in the NRL. The Dragons are doing the right thing keeping him on the books in 2024 but he will have to be removed as a top 30 squad player in my view.

Speaking of an old hardhead👍

Seems it'll take a medical miracle for him to play next year.

The spot isn't as important as the cap space the club is looking at paying his contract over 2 years that will free up around 400k cap space for 24.

Side note, it was good to see Cody running light ball drills with the team last week.
