Dragons preparing $1m deal to keep rising star Tyrell Sloan at the club long-term
St George-Illawarra are poised to commence a $1 million-plus pitch to keep rising star Tyrell Sloan - the greatest indication yet that coach Shane Flanagan believes the 21-year-old can become the club’s long-term fullback. The Dragons are intending to launch negotiations with Sloan and his management next week, additional acknowledgment by the Red V that they are eager to retain the exciting talent before a ball is kicked ahead of the 2024 season.
Sloan is one of 14 players off-contract at the Saints this season. The club has already begun talks to re-sign hard-running backrower Jayd’n Sua and the commencement of negotiations with Sloan’s management team from SFX Sports Group illustrates the club’s ambition to begin working through their off-contract list.
It’s anticipated the Dragons will table a multi-year offer of around $500,000 per season for Sloan.
500k a season is FA for a fullback these days.
