The difference bwtween the Roosters and Dragons. We re-sign a prop who has played a number of games in first grade. They re-sign an Origin prop.

DRAGONS EXTEND MOLO

St George Illawarra have extended forward Michael Molo on a one-year deal until the end of 2025. Molo has played 31 NRL games since making his debut at the Dragons in 2022 and he was picked for the Prime Minister’s XIII last year. The 27-year-old played a career-high 19 games last season and his missed just one game for the Dragons in 2024.

“Michael has now established himself as an NRL player and a valuable part of our squad,” Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said. “He is just coming into his best football and we look forward to seeing his development over the next season and a half.”

ROOSTERS RE-SIGN ORIGIN STAR

The Roosters have re-signed Origin prop Lindsay Collins on a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of 2028. Collins was already locked down until 2026 but he’s now committed even further and penned another two-year extension. The 27-year-old has made 94 first-grade appearances since making his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2017 and Collins has since represented Queensland and Australia.

“I consider myself very fortunate to put on the Sydney Roosters jersey and to represent this great club,” Collins said. “We’ve got a great crew here and I love coming to work every day, so to know that I will be a Rooster for at least the next four years is something I’m very proud of.”

Roosters coach Trent Robinson praised Collins’ work ethic as “second to none”. “Lindsay has been in our system for a number of years now and I’ve loved watching his progression from a young forward into one of the senior voices of our side,” Robinson said. “His work ethic and his dedication to his craft and his teammates is second to none, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make a significant impact on and off the field in the coming years.”

A couple of rugby union outside backs are talked about a lot in regard to making a switch or confirmed making a switch to league but why no forwards? Aren't there any forwards in Australia, NZ or beyond St. George should target? Anyone follow rugby union?

M Molo is a bad re-signing and puts pressure on our list.

Top 30 are usually around 15 and 15 some clubs are 17 forwards 13 backs depending on utilities.

Out of our 30 we now have 17 signed plus 4 juniors all forwards, Stewart Egan Latu Loko. 7 backs 14 forwards.

Bird and Russell have MO, we sign them, they sign somewhere else unlikely, or they take up their options. So I'd say we are stuck with them.

Off contract
JDB we are in talks, he could be our next announcement
Su'A talks stalled, he wants a better deal.
Sloan in limbo.

Fowards
Tuitavake, Eisenhuth BMM have to go plus one other to balance the 4 juniors.
Russell Su'A and JDB would give us 17 and we still need to sign a marquee prop and a dummy half.

Backs
We have a lot more space, Lomax Feagai x 2 Savelio Marschke.
We need a marquee to replace Lomax plus back up or improvement in the spine.

The signing of M Molo and 4 juniors forwards into our top 30 has put early pressure on our list.
I believe the juniors should of been staggered more through our Supplementary list
The signing of Stewart to a 3 years NRL deal is questionable given his father has a role in the club.

There is still time for plenty of movement, maybe even some trades.

Savelio is on the outer? It's a done deal?

So Lomax is going . Our best back goes to the Eels apparently because he was impressed by their vision for his and their future. What a mess this club is still in.
Flanno's plan had better start bearing fruit soon or he might find himself being shopped around.

The Barrett-Temora connection won out.
He's our best centre but really hasn't kicked on to be anywhere near as good as we thought he would a few years ago. He's more similar to Matt Cooper than Mark Gasnier. I rate Coops very highly but he rarely broke the line. Opposition didn't fear his running game like they did Gaz.

I posted this on another forum can anyone else relate to this ...........
Mate I'm walking distance to the ground at Kogarah about 15 min walk have not been to a game since Price took over ....... I was waiting for some improvement then I would have gone to a game, but the writing was on the wall , I could see it but the Board could not ........ From Price to Mary to Hook disastrous ,and who ever was responsible for signings and letting go of younger players that have gone on and made it elsewhere should be responsible also ....... Also who in the team at the moment is home grown , Lawrie , debelin , Lomax ? Anyway looks like I won't be going to a game anytime soon ....... I could see the writing was on the wall but our lot couldn't ....... Sad but true ........
