Based on the form in round 1, even if Saints lose tomorrow, we could go on a winning run after that.
  • Round 3 vs Sharks = excellent chance of a win
  • Round 4 vs Parramatta = Well, we took care of them, going away from them in the trails. Overrated. At least 50-50 for a win.
  • Round 5 vs Souths = Based on round 1, Saints are specials.
  • Round 6 vs Newcastle = They weren't really even "good" against the Roosters. Just the Roosters were really poor.
  • Round 7 vs Roosters = See above. Every year there is a team that is expected to go really well but bombs out. I think/hope it's going to be the Roosters this year.
  • Round 8 vs Tigers = Unless injury ravaged, this should a must win.
  • Round 9 vs Melbourne = Tough game. More chance of winning that tomorrow so lets see how we go tomorrow.
  • Round 10 vs Gold Coast = Another tough game.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's a very even competition. Possible we'd also lose all those games.

Well, ok. Maybe not round 8.

This game came at a good time. A good chance to see where the team is early in the season. Good enough to beat or go close to beating the best? If not, where does the team need to and how can it improve?

Final thoughts........ If Saints win this, top 8 is assured, top 4 a very good chance, the premiership isn't out of the question. They will get better when Cleary is back but Saints will get better as the young backs get more used to and more confident in the NRL.

Confirmed. Sims to lock, JDB to the bench. Seems strange. Maybe the plan is for JDB to come and play longer with no break.
