Griffin & Hunt

Report didn't name him but said it was front office and that's why Craig Young came out with his statement " He has my full support".

The 3 criteria he was originally hired for were:
Defence minded coach
Culture of success
Strict disciplinarian

Failed in all 3 and report even highlighted the win against the Titans we still gave up 26 points which history shows will not get you semi final football.

Some revelations. Who was the 'un named official'. I expect Gould had something to do with Ciraldo declining our offer.

So Hunt will stay only if Griffin is the coach. That is rather bizarre.

What are the three criteria. win/loss ratio is one I expect. That has been pointed our already as an F for failure.

"Credibility damaged" Meaning what exactly? Paul Vaughan should never have been sacked.

A new offer of 700K, what then was the original one? Seems it was no where near what we all speculated.
That's actually a good question. Does JoDragon have any idea what the other two criteria after win\loss would be?

Nice timing

I would now suggest 23 will be his last season with us because I believe that the Dolphins will make a better offer now that everyone knows what has been offered

Since when has Ben Hunt had such an ego? He thinks he can demand who the coach is no matter the performance? Weird!
Then he is welcome to leave and take 'his coach' with him. What do you expect about his ego when you offer a moderate play maker back in 2018 such an obscene salary. He must've felt like he struck the jackpot.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dolphins got him for 3 years from next year. In fact, I think if he doesn't get a 2 year extension with the Dragons, he'll be gone from next season.

Brisbane Times newspaper reporting an unamed senior Dragons official made enquiries in an effort to lure Cameron Ciraldo to replace Griffin but he declined and has now signed with the Dogs. Also reporting that Hunt is baulking at re signing until the club ensures that he will be playing under Griffin until the end of his extended contract, wants his future tied to that of Griffin. Reporting Griffin has failed to meet the 3 critical criteria he was hired under and his credibility was badly damaged by the BBQ saga. His win ratio is below that of McGregor. Also reporting that Sullivan is awaiting the outcome of Hunts contract negotiations and will seek a release . New offer of 700k per season for 2 seasons has been tabled last night.Time will tell

A spine of Sullivan, Amone, Sloan and Muhleisen might struggle badly for a year or two. Need Hunt to stay on for the last year of his contract.

We would still have to pay half of next seasons salary
Depends how much they are willing to pay him and how much the Dragons are willing to pay him to play elsewhere. Comes down to bargaining.

Hmmmm that's a good point. On second thoughts, probably should keep Hunt around for the last year of his deal.

Agree but it appears as I have been saying that the team and club is divided into Griffin an his ex Broncos and the locals. They have been playing that way for some time now.

Yeh but what is the Chairman's view if he has the final say.
My view knowing what it is like to be involved with a club and team divided is that my prediction of finishing 12th next season may well happen if not worsen. Now that the coach and playmaker know where they both stand we are in a dead man walking scenario

Is the board made up of an even number of people?
There's 8 directors 4 from the Illawarra Steelers 4 from St George. The Illawarra Steelers though were bought out of their crippling debt by the Win conglomerate headed by the Gordon's who son Andrew was replaced by Craig Young but Young doesn't have the casting vote

The leagues club side, we have Craig Young, a former premiership-winning player and policeman, Peter Doust who spent nearly two decades as CEO and businessmen Peter Black and Ralph Piggott.

On the WIN side, we have Andrew Gordon and WIN CEO Andrew Lancaster, as well as Craig Osborne, a general-purpose lawyer in the Wollongong area, and the token Steeler, Graeme Gulloch.

'If they rate Sullivan, which just last week they said they do, and want Hunt to play hooker for 2 years until Purcell or Hooper take over.'

This was posted on the R&R thread by Eric Eric. I am not aware of all these revelations, who else is?
