I think Flanagan has only been in that role this season. Last year he was in charge of pathways.

Any wonder Hunt wants to stay with the RedV. His continued overpaid salary that has put the squeeze on our salary cap. Is also not adverse to soaking up the over hyped praise either, from our Front Office and the media.

Reckon Ben Hunt's ego took a battering when he was offered far less than the reported 850K he expected for his extension. If he bails out that leaves us with some ready cash to pick up a half decent, experienced play maker while our juniors, like Zac Herring and the two halves placed on DV contracts last week, remain on training wheels.

I thought 2 weeks ago Fox sports was saying the offer was about 1mil a year for 2 years. That was just ridiculous. Given his age, around 700k a year is fair. He may be able to get a little more elsewhere but not much more.

I'm also surprised Hunt made such a demand. He obviously has a very high opinion of himself. From what I know, such an attitude won't impress Albert one bit!

I don't think Albert has much to do with Hunt's new contract. It's all Flanagan and Hook.

I think Flanno has to make a recommendation and Albert has to sign off on it. Usually just a formaility but I guess it is set up in such a way to prevent conflicts of interest. Like Flanno signing his son would be. Hook will give Hunt whatever he wants. That's another conflict of interest. I read that Hook even wanted to extend Corey Norman but Albert ruled it out.

A SMH report claims Ben Hunt wanted to secure a clause whereby he could follow Griffin out the door mid-contract in the event of the coach copping the axe.

So it seems Hunt has heard that Griffin is facing the axe otherwise why would he ask for this clause as part of the extension deal. Plus reason why, as yet, he has not accepted the deal. This will end messily now and put a stain on the club when it should not. Hopefully it wont impede any decent imports wanting to join us.
