Just had a tip off regarding the Leagues Club its self , from a (which I consider fairly reliable source) , That the club is getting ready for a huge renovation ........ This is very much over due and would help attract players as well ........ I hope the INFO is true , and it happens sooner than later ........

Get in, get it done fast before the Shonkies establishment reopens. Take their customers.

But it's nowhere near as important for the team as it once was.

For me having a revamp Leagues Club , with a good vibe (which the club has lacked for 2 decades now ) would help with recruiting players as well ..... But as you say , probably not as important , but would help .......

Analysis = true

Probably the high performance centre in Woolongong will be a huge boost to recruitment and retention. That's going to be completed in this off season, isn't it? Also I think Flanno is well thought of in player circles. Not like Griffin who at one time was a good coach but always struggled to get along with the players and staff.

DRAGONS

Off contract 2023: Billy Burns, Tautau Moga, Tyrell Fuimaono, Nick Lui-Toso

Off contract 2024: Jaydn Su’A, Tyrell Sloan, Jack de Belin, Jack Bird, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Mathew Feagai, Max Feagai, Cody Ramsey, Francis Molo, Jaiyden Hunt, Moses Suli, Paul Turner

Analysis: Jaydn Su’A is contracted until the end of 2024 but he’s been linked to a Dragons exit for 12 months and the backrower reportedly seriously considered submitting a release request this time last year. Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett has declared his interest in the 25-year-old and Su’A was earlier this month spotted inspecting houses in Brisbane. Su’A made his NRL debut under Bennett at the Broncos in 2016 and made his Origin debut under the veteran coach. This time last year Tyrell Sloan wanted out of the Dragons but he is very much settled in the Red V now — in fact he purchased a home in Wollongong earlier this year. New coach Shane Flanagan has vowed to get the best out of Sloan, but there’s a real chance the exciting fullback will attract interest from rivals if he hits the open market. Jack de Belin is showing no signs of slowing down, but he will turn 33 in the opening rounds of next season. Flanagan has reportedly made a big call on the Feagai twins with Max told he is free to look elsewhere while his brother Mat is set to stay put. Jack Bird, who has a mutual option in his contract for 2025, is expected to hit the open market after he was embroiled in some drama regarding his future earlier this season. It was reported that he wanted out of the Dragons only for the 28-year-old to hit back claiming the report was false.

  • Re-signing Su'a would be nice but it's not a huge issues if he wants out.
  • Let Bird fly away.
  • Extend JDB for one more year.
  • What to do with Tyrell Sloan?
  • Let the rest go.

Isn't it worth keeping Bird around for his utility value? Just don't start him in the forwards and he might go ok.

You're missing a few off that list, Amone, M Molo and Alex Tuitavake.
Half the squad off contract.

Just on Ramsey we are looking at extending his contract to spread the payment over two years and keep him under the NRL for surgery and rehab.

There has also been more changes to off field personnel.

100% to your analysis. Flanno will know what to to with Sloan.
Matt Feagai staying put bewilders me to distraction. Flanno has missed a beat with this call. I'd have his brother over him.

He hasn't extended either. Just game one permission to look elsewhere with the Dragons picking up part of his salary. I think they both might go ok if both learn to tackle way better and position themselves to be in a position to make tackles way better. And as centres, not as wingers.

So we are stuck with him for another year, unless Flanno makes a call to release him and buy out the last year of his contract. Rather that than have him stinking up our games any further. Opens the door for either another import wingman, Rene McDonald (went great for the Kumuls), or promote Sione Finau.

Surely Finau is going to be on the wing unless he's injured.

Glad they are giving Ramsey a chance to come back. If he can put on 10kg of muscle from where he left off a year ago, could be an excellent winger or centre.

Not sure about fullback.

Not as naturally gifted as Sloan for a fullback.
