I'm going to disagree here. I think he's (Gutherson) massively overrated. He's like Ramsey. Tenacious and puts 110% into pretty much everything he does but lacks the talent of the best fullbacks. Or best potential fullbacks like Sloan.
Maybe Sloan can look at Gutherson as a good example. Tell him something like "train as hard and try as hard as he does and you will be a superstar."

SGI NSW Cup
Gutherson is 28.. has reached and passed his potential. Just saying he is a consistently good custodian and deserves a Kangaroo cap. We all know electors love premiership winners, so if the Eels take home the Provan-Summons Trophy we may well see both Gutho and Moses leapfrog the incumbents.
But he has to beat out Tedesco and Mitchell. We know how terrible he was when picked in the centres for NSW. Dylan Edwards is better than Gutherson, IMO.
A few more Parra bolters. Reed Mahoney, (hooker) Ryan Matterson (lock) Shaun Lane (second row)
Mahony has to beat out Hunt and Grant. Matterson is a Parramatta interchange forward. Shaun Lane is a strong possibility. On form, he'd be the first second rower picked.

Agree about Sloan , but , the Parra guy is a very good fullback ..... But Respect as always other opinions .....

Made 55 tackles in the prelim final. So from that we know he is a better defender than Hunt. Not looked at stats maybe better even than Grant. I did say Mahoney was my bolter. Cook is the fly in the ointment. No stats on Ben.

Season stats: Zero Tackle.
Hunt: Only plays in the position 3/4 times a year.??
Mahoney: 24 games, 8 tries, 5 try assists, 6 linebreak assists, 32 run metres + 42 tackles per game season
Grant: 20 games, 7 tries, 16 try assists, 14 linebreak assists, 91 run metres + 40 tackles per game
Cook: 20 games, 8 tries, 7 try assists, 10 linebreak assists, 8 linebreaks, 81 run metres + 46 tackles per game
Robson: 24 games, 7 tries, 7 try assists, 6 linebreak assists, 74 run metres + 42 tackles per game
Don't these stats indicate, not including Hunt, Mahony is the 4th best hooker in the competition?

SGI NSW Cup
I did say Mahoney was my bolter if the Eels win.I think it will be out of these two.
Grant: 20 games, 7 tries, 16 try assists, 14 linebreak assists, 91 run metres + 40 tackles per game
Cook: 20 games, 8 tries, 7 try assists, 10 linebreak assists, 8 linebreaks, 81 run metres + 46 tackles per game

Notice Grant makes the least tackles per game.
Melbourne probably control possession better than most other teams. How many missed tackles?

Yes. When you consider the firepower we have lost to the Pacific Island nations they may now be favorites.
..and before I am accused of 'sour grapes' after they win it, from where did almost all of their best players emerge. Here in our own NRL of course.
Agree. I guess the best Australian side has some injuries but even so, Kiwis are very competitive.

There is no place for any you have mentioned. We have sufficient half backs it will be Cleary then DCE, if a catastrophe strikes Hunt but Hunt will be starting hooker rotating with Harry Grant Fullback will be Tedesco followed by Mitchell who will originally be selected in the centres with Holmes. 5/8 definitely Munster, followed by Wighton, Id take Burton on the plane. In the pack I feel RCG will be one prop, the other Jake Trbojevic, the Titans prop and cpt, Fa’asuamaleaui has played his way onto the plane so need 1 more prop. On form the backrowers should be Yeo, Murray and Crichton, I'd take Lane and Carrigan on the plane as well. Wingers Addo Carr and probably Coates. So you can't be taking Moses, Hynes or Gutherson too far down the pecking order in my view.

Personally I think Coats is overrated. In the Melbourne games I saw late in the season, Nofoluma was better than Coats. JAC and To'o will probably be wingers.

Is Payne Haas unavailable? If so, I guess Papali will be the other prop.
