With this team, the team Hook built, I reckon he'll do well to have them finish 12th.I'm really worried we could sink further down the ladder than my expectation of 12th
Though I might have to disagree with you there. A faster, much bigger and more confident Sloan could become a superstar. Lets wait and see.To be plainly honest we don't have a game breaker or game changer. We resigned Moga seriously after watching him last year finding it hard to outpace a forward. It's going to get ugly this season.
I believe ever since I saw him first play in our juniors I said he reminded me of a David Peachy moves beautifully and effortlessly across the park. But it won't matter in this team with this pack.Though I might have to disagree with you there. A faster, much bigger and more confident Sloan could become a superstar. Lets wait and see.
Needs more help. I didn't rate Peachy close to Sloan. At least on potential.I believe ever since I saw him first play in our juniors I said he reminded me of a David Peachy moves beautifully and effortlessly across the park. But it won't matter in this team with this pack.
Your a hard markerNeeds more help. I didn't rate Peachy close to Sloan. At least on potential.
Maybe I'm biased against him because he played for the Shonkies but I agree with Ryan. Peachy was a solid first grader for a few years. Nothing more. I hope Sloan is a lot better.Your a hard marker
Looks good. I know almost nothing about the juniors coming through but I know we need good, young forwards in a hurry. So there are now 4 spots open in the top 30 and still the two development contract positions. We have:
So which 3 miss out?
- Toby Couchman (second row or lock)
- Ryan Couchman (second row or lock)
- Dylan Egan (second row)
- Haele Finau (hooker)
- Zach Herring (half or 5/8)
- Aaron Johnson (prop)
- Alexander Lobb (winger)
- Dan Russell (second row)
- Jacob Webster (prop)
So who are the two going to be on development contracts?
- Dylan Egan is 18. He'll do well with a year in the lower grades.
- Dan Russell is 28 this year. Dragons already have the oldest pack in the competition.
- Aaron Johnson is a hard choice to cut but he has always seemed to me like Eddie Blacker. Relies on his size but won't be so big in an open age group.
Just my view.
- Zach Herring could do with playing in an open age group for 10 weeks.
- Toby or Ryan Couchman because they play in the same position.

If he continues to excel, Griffin might give him a chance in another 10 years. We have a promising 16 yr old prop
Good question. I guess it's possible but doesn't make much sense, does it? An 18 year-old future star is probably no better in first grade now than a 30 year-old journeyman. The former would do better to stay in the lower grades for another year. Can the club release players from the top 30 even if they are under contract? Of course they would still have to pay the player and it would still count in the salary cap if no other club picks them up but can they be released anyway?
But who to replace Rava or Fegai with? What if Bird's defence hasn't improved? Who to replace Kerr and Burns with? What if J. Hunt and M. Molo don't do well enough in the trials to replace Woods with? This is I fear what is going to be the main issue. Feagai and Rava are the best available wingers. Bird won't tackle and won't get a baking or get hooked or replaced or anything. No better options than Kerr and Burns. J. Hunt and M. Molo never kick on to become regular first grade standard players.According to "The Roar":
Round 2 Predicted Team - St George Illawarra Dragons
- Tyrell Sloan (Of course.)
- Mikaele Ravalawa (Maybe but so slow for a winger.)
- Moses Suli (Still got his nose in front of the Feagai's.)
- Zac Lomax (Of course.)
- Mat Feagai (better as a centre than winger.)
- Moses Mbye (if Sullivan and Amone are out, I guess this is right.)
- Ben Hunt (of course.)
- Blake Lawrie (of course.)
- Jacob Liddle (I guess there are no better options and how bad is that?)
- Zane Musgrove (I guess so.)
- Jack Bird (better tackle properly this year!)
- Jaydn Su’A (Of course)
- Jack De Belin (of course)
Interchange:- Billy Burns (No! He's an 80min backrower or not in the team.)
- Josh Kerr (*+`&%#!!!! Absolutely not!)
- Tyrell Fuimaono (I guess so.)
- Aaron Woods (Hopefully M. Molo or J. Hunt can have good games in the trails and get in front of Woods.)
What happens if B Hunt gets injured ?But who to replace Rava or Fegai with? What if Bird's defence hasn't improved? Who to replace Kerr and Burns with? What if J. Hunt and M. Sullivan 7, Mbye 6.What happens if B Hunt gets injured ?
As long as Sully doesn't continue to have hammy problems , then what ? Mbye to 7 Bird to 6 ? ..... Hopefully Hunt doesn't get injured and has the same year as last with form , but I can't see that happening ...... Either way we will continue to be F**KED .....Sullivan 7, Mbye 6.
I guess so unless Herring is given a development contract and is able to play in the halves from round 10. Any team will struggle badly if it's two first choice half backs are out.As long as Sully doesn't continue to have hammy problems , then what ? Mbye to 7 Bird to 6 ? .....
